Evan Robinson earned his Bachelor’s degree at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music while studying with Stephen Wyrczynski. He went on to complete his Master’s of Music at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music under the tutelage of André J. Roy.
Evan has had the opportunity to perform all across the world including Carnegie Hall as a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar and as Assistant Principal of the Music Masters Course Japan orchestra in Tokyo’s City Opera Concert Hall. He is a former principal violist of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and the Indiana University Philharmonic, Concert, and Baroque Orchestras under acclaimed conductors such as Carl St. Clair, David Effron, Daniel Boico, and Paul Nadler.
An avid chamber musician, Evan was a member of the Milton String Quartet which won the Senior String Division Gold Medal and Grand Prize at the 2017 Fischoff National Chamber Competition, one of North America’s most prestigious chamber music awards. The quartet toured across the USA and Canada, as well as completing an exchange program with the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Evan has since had the privilege to study with members of the world’s greatest string quartets including the Alban Berg, Ebène and Escher.
Evan pursues an active teaching career in Hong Kong and is a former Graduate Instructor of McGill University as well as a Teaching Artist for the Noel Pointer Foundation in Brooklyn, NYC. Since 2021, he is a member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
